Russell Brand Esque

After my show last night on radio northants I had someone say to me my presenting style was Russell Brand Esque. Too me that can only be a complement he is my hero I think very highly of him, he's funny, cleaver and famous he is what I want to be.... I'm not saying I want to be Russell brand or am I? 

I only got into comedy to start with because Russell made it seem cool to me and I wanted to be like him. Now I have a radio show on Friday nights and I do stand up comedy.... Next Acting!

My first gig this year

So the other night I was "told off" by my fiancée because I say I wanna do stand up and I wanna do panto but when it comes to it I always have some sort of panic attack and bottle it. Obviously I'll never make it if I carry on this week. Will I?

The best quote came out when this "telling off" happened she said "did Russell brand get where he is by not performing?" I love that quote and using Russell to prove a point she knows me so well.

So that led to me thinking long and hard about everything and I signed up to open comedy and applied for the comedy cow and now I have my first gig this year!

It's always nice to hear people like your work

It's always nice to hear someone has enjoyed one of my videos some one today told me they enjoyed my "dating" set from a few weeks ago. To me it was a mad moment when they approached me and said they liked it and found it funny.

Answer machines

This weeks Saturday stand up is the open section from the 2 fat 2 fly shows from 2013 this is slightly adapted due too the fact I recorded it in a room on my own but none the less it's based on that all the jokes in this video I wrote in February 2013 but I kind of liked them so I kept them going.

Dating

Energy drink granny

This is a one off one joke Wednesday I wrote and recorded the joke on Tuesday (10th June) and posted it to YouTube yesterday. It all ready has a higher viewing figure than any of the other videos so far (as of 10:43 pm Thursday 12th June 2014)

It was based on something I seen in town that morning there was an older lady drinking one of them large cans of red bull and that's what sparked it...... The rest is pure fiction made by my brain...

Shopping with mum

This weeks video is called shopping with mum it's based on a true story (well trueish) I wrote this piece last year as part of my "2 fat 2 fly" show I did in the summer (2013) that finished at the Bedford fringe. The show went well even though only 4 people where watching but what can you expect when your not famous (yet)

Stand up at home?

Can doing stand up comedy at home really work?
I'm someone who says it could work but it's not the same you don't get the instant feed back from your audience. But rest assured you do get your feed back but it's not always helpful or nice but at least you know what people think of your work
